off on monday

I enjoy being off as much as the next person. I had big plans for the kids and my beautiful wife. We were going to take the boy to the beach. Well adventure 1 was not fun for all involved. Sam was not thrilled with the beach at all. After coming home from school and a brief lunch out as a family a much needed rest provided fun for all at the old swimming pool. You know long weekends can become extended honey-do-lists, but sometimes it is just more fun to do whatever whenever. It is so simple

Thank you to my wife

I have been very lazy here recently, but I have to say thank you to my wife. She was wonderful when the kids were visiting family and we had such a wonderful time being able to re-connect and spend time going new places and trying new things. It was also wonderful when the kids came home and we were a whole family again, but for just those few days it was nice being a couple, a party of two, a pair. Now we are a whole family again and I am more appreciative of my wife then ever. So plainly: Thank you Meg you are great!

Calvin's Birthday

Today was my cousins birthday and it was bittersweet for me. I for those of you who do not know my uncle died the day before Christmas last year and I have not spoken of it much but that is for another day. I so enjoy my cousin and his family and today was strange because at his party my aunt was there and I have expected to see him, but alas I he did not. The party was a great time for all, but my Aunt Donna without Uncle Dave was very different. I don't want this to be a sad post, but I do miss the man. I decided today that being lazy about visiting family this close is simply unacceptable and it is time I do better for my kids, wife, and my sake. So, I maybe out more often on Saturday's and Sunday's for now on.
